🧰Map Generation

Depending on how you are generating your map, or several, Minecraft Earth Tiles allows for customization of these settings to aid in this process.

Minecraft Earth TIles Map Generation Settings

Initial Setup

Version 1 - First-time PBF file.

When generating from a PBF file, select the first two options.

Version 2 - Pre-filtered output.o5m option

When using the pre-filtered PBF option from Addons - PBF File

Version 3 - Overpass-API

When neither a PBF file nor a pre-filtered version is present, the data can be downloaded from Geofabrik or a custom-provided API (See more below) in real-time.

Generation

  • Number of parallel generations

    • Options 1-16

Select how many Tiles should be generated at once. Ideally, for stability, it should be no more than half of your CPU cores.

  • Allow parallel WorldPainter generations

Due to a large requirement for RAM, you can disable parallel WorldPainter generations.

  • Show cmd prompt during generations

Hide or show the cmd prompts for each batch file while the map is generated.

  • Pause cmd after each step*

  • Automatically scroll during generation

  • Continue, even if some Tiles fail

  • Close the application after the generation

The Tiles program will close once all Tiles have been generated.

  • Send Alert after generation

    • Mail Address

Specify an email address to receive an alert that the entire Tile generation has finished.

Various

  • Custom Overpass URL.*

Custom Overpass URL: (leave blank)

Restrictions:

You can safely assume that you don't disturb other users when you do less than 10,000 queries per day and download less than 1 GB of data per day[1].

More Overpass API information is available here
  • Proxy Server

    • When a connection to the geographical data requires different networking compared to your standard setup (Chances are if you need to use this, you'll know what you're doing).
